Hi All,

I posted this elsewhere on the forum and realised that this should probably be a separate thread so we can have the discussion all in one place :-)

How would folks feel about a different kind of event held over a weekend, probably but optionally residential, that might include 2-3 sets of music performed by Howard in different ways e.g. piano, acoustic, electronic, band etc. and some other events e.g. masterclass, technical/gear session, discussion on songwriting, Q and A, and a mini CD/memorabilia fair etc.? Perhaps also including a request set of songs?

Best, Paul

A great concept which would give us a unique opportunity to delve a litle deeper into Howard's music.

I would most definitely be up for this

Great - keep the suggestions coming in and we (as in Paul and Andy of Hide and Seek Music) will put a proposal together and present this to Howard and FML

Best, Paul

This would be totally cool.....you have have to keep it more personal than a concert and keep it more of a Fan Convention of some sort.

Good feedback folks. Any suggestions on the type of venue and content?

Best, Paul

I suppose the choice of venue would depend a lot on the scale of the sets and the number of people wishing to attend.

If there was to be a set to include a band then perhaps the best option would be a theatre adjacent to a hotel with conferencing facilities. The theatre could host a concert in the evening open to everyone, and other events lined up for weekend/residential guests could be held within the hotel itself.

If Howard's sets and/or number of attendees were on a smaller scale then I guess a hotel with conference facilities alone would cater adequately. Some of these places even have small theatres with reasonable acoustics and tiered seating.

Content wise, I think what has already been suggested is interesting, particularly the songwriting discussion and technical session. This would give us a real insight into how the songs we all love so much made it, right from conception through to the finished performance.

This really needs to happen :)
