Howard,

I would like to thank you for keeping us informed on all of the aspects of your life that you care to share. One in particular today on everyone's mum, Thelma.

I know I speak for many. We love her and John very much. Thelma and I began corresponding just about the time I lost my grandmother in the late 80's. I used to send her my demo tapes and she always encouraged me. We spoke on the phone many times in later years. John and Thelma always made me feel special as I'm sure she did many.

Is it a crime to share a love of someone so special even if they are not as directly connected?

Well, for me, it is true human connection. I connected with her and I am praying that she is under the best care.

Thelma, our hearts are one with you and get well soon. John, thanks for being the strong man that you are. I have always had such respect and admiration for your insights, direction and advice through the years. You have a wonderful family who's light shines endlessly.

Feel this heart,
Jerry Markham - RISK # 11039

Hi,
Thelma has been in my thoughts all day since seeing the message.
And indeed over the years, even though out of the spotlight now, we all still think of her and hope she is enjoying her 'retirement'! She will always have a special place in so many's hearts along with John.
She gave us such Hojo VIP treatment, that we will never forget.

Please pass on all my heartfelt best thoughts and wishes that she is comfortable and in good hands and speedily back to good health.

In our thoughts and prayers.
Roz

Just want to add to these heartfelt wishes to Thelma. She used to send me lovely letters; these were especially appreciated when I was going though a break up with the mother of my two sons.

She was generous not only with her time, but with her gifts too. She sent me a copy of the Action reply EP and a copy of the Two souls single.

I remember being at a concert - I was standing at the bar. She and John came up to me and without hesitation, said "hello Mark, nice to see you again" The fact she remembered not only me, but my name too, blew me away.

I wish her a speedy recovery. I can imagine with her strong disposition and the love of her family and fans, she'll be up on her feet before we know it.

Get well soon Thelma - we love ya LOADS X

ps: big up respect to John too - you're a diamond geezer :)

Hi Howard,

Please say hi to Thelma for me and wish her a full recovery. She was kind enough to post a CD of yours to me in the late 90's when I was going through some tough times, and always took the time to write a handwritten letter. I'll never forget when I shared my aspirations with her to be a big performer like yourself, and she said to never give up-- that you were 29 years old before you even set foot in a studio. I even remember sending her a photo of me when I went through the "long hair phase" and then a more recent with a shorter 'do.' I was humbled when she concluded one letter with, "you're much better with the short hair!" Your Mom even sent me a Christmas card one year; I still have it to this day.

I hope to one day get the chance to meet her and give her a nice hug. She's like the unofficial "Grandma" inspiration and backbone to the Hojo fanbase. In the meantime, please give her that hug for me and pass along my regards to John as well.

All my best,
Stuart Powell
NYC

All Best wishes to Thelma - I remember her always at the gigs and the handwritten letters - always treating us as individuals and remembering us all even after just one or two brief words.

Big love and respect from the Howard Jones extended family!

Hi Howard,

I hope your mum is on the mend - I'm sure I speak for many fans who have fond memories of her kindness when she ran Risk. It was great to shake her hand at the gig in Maidenhead when she retired. Get Well Soon Thelma
